Golf Outing at Tenison Park


(8:00 am Shotgun Start)

Only 10 minutes from downtown Dallas, Tenison Park offers the best in public golf with different experiences on each of its 18 hole courses. Your registration fee includes tournament play and transportation to and from the Hyatt Regency Dallas, but does not include food & beverage. Golf clubs are available for rental at an additional fee ($30 or $45 depending on brand) when you register. Rentals must be requested by Friday, May 6, 2016.

Bike Tour around White Rock Lake

Get some exercise while enjoying the sunny weather with fellow AHF members on a bike tour around White Rock Lake. White Rock Lake is a 1,015 acre city lake located approximately 5 miles northeast of downtown Dallas. White Rock is one of the most heavily used parks in the Dallas Park system. It is the location of many special events and is one of the best places to experience natural areas and wildlife in an urban setting. This guided bike tour will be two laps around the lake totaling 20 miles. Bike rental equipment will be provided. All levels of bikers are welcome as long you feel physically fit and can tolerate temps in the mid to high 80s. After your bike ride, you’ll enjoy lunch with fellow AHF members at the LOT, a locally-influenced restaurant and neighborhood beer garden in the heart of East Dallas. Tour includes transportation to and from the Hyatt Regency Dallas but does not include food & beverage. Register soon! Maximum capacity for this tour is 15.

Volunteer at The Bridge – A Homeless Recovery Center

Give back to the local community at this year’s AHF conference by volunteering to serve lunch at The Bridge, a homeless recovery center just five minutes by car from the Hyatt Regency Dallas. According to The Dallas Morning News, The Bridge has placed more than 1,800 people into housing since opening in 2008. It has provided assistance and recovery services each year to about 85 percent of Dallas County’s homeless population. Volunteers will assist with lunch tray preparation, service and minimal clean-up. This activity was developed as part of AHF’s 2016 “Food with a Purpose” initiative. Register soon!     Cattle is king in Texas and beef is an important part of Texas history and culture. Grass-fed beef is now a small specialty market, but it is an important part of the sustainability, small producer, local source and healthful eating trends. On this tour you will have the opportunity to experience rural Texas and learn about grass-fed beef from expert ranchers at Burgundy Pasture Beef. You will then make the farm to market connection traveling to Stocks & Bondy, a store in the Dallas Farmers Market making stocks and broths using the products of the grass-fed beef ranch as well as ingredients from other local farms and ranches. Chef Bondy will prepare your lunch using locally sourced ingredients and featuring her bone broths and stocks. After lunch Chef Bondy will take the group on a walking tour of the Dallas Farmers Market highlighting the history and new developments of this Dallas cultural landmark.
