Biography

As Chief People Officer, Mike leads the People Office charged with going beyond traditional human resource functions to diversify, engage, and empower our impressive staff to achieve even greater outcomes. Mike oversees the administrative functions of human resources as well as leadership development, talent mobility, and knowledge management. He serves on the Executive Council and Executive Leadership Team.

Mike brings great experience to his role, along with a deep commitment to helping others learn and grow. He has held a number of leadership positions at TNC over the past 20 years, serving as State Director of the Maine Chapter from 2004-2015 and also serving as Lead Director in the Northeastern U.S. since 2010. From 1998-2004 he worked in Colorado as the chapter’s Yampa River Project Director and Northwest Colorado Program Manager. Mike also led the process to create the North America Division with Brian McPeek, chaired the steering committee for the Conservation by Design refresh in 2015, and was the first sponsor of the Nature’s Pride Employee Resource Group.
